Under the cover of the dark winter season, we have built two brand new bridges. One short and one long. And now that the light, warmth and sunshine are once again making Anholt a paradise for sailors, you can really see how well the work has turned out.
The short bridge
The short bridge is located completely under land - in the innermost part of the harbor, with a gangway right up to the harbor's main thoroughfare Gennem Landet. From here it is less than a hundred meters to shops where you can stock up on provisions. This applies whether the provisions consist of delicious food at one of the local eateries, or whether it's the kind of food you need to take back on the boat. Either way, you can sit and enjoy the harbor environment, the good weather, the sun or the stunning views from the quayside right down to the short bridge.
The short bridge is designed for smaller boats. It should therefore be used exclusively for guest sailors with a shallow draught who can maneuver right at the bottom of the harbor. Examples include small motorboats, people boats and other vessels that do not plunge deep. The bridge is 30 meters long and the water depth will be approximately 2.5 meters.
The long bridge
The second bridge, the one in the outer basin, is somewhat longer. It measures a full 200 meters and is expected to accommodate around 50 boats. The number of berths will vary depending on the size of the boats. The berths at this bridge are intended to be longship berths, so there will be no piles or buoys.
NOTE for special wind conditions
Please note that this bridge can be an unstable location in certain wind directions. In unsettled weather, we strongly recommend using a berth inside the harbor. We encourage you to follow the weather forecast on the days you may be moored at the long bridge.
We are working on finding a good solution that can provide shelter at the seats on the long bridge. Unfortunately, we will not be able to implement this for the 2023 season.
Green electricity
On both bridges, brand new electricity meters have been installed, which supply 100% green electricity to the connected boats. To 'open' the power on the board, you need a card that you can buy in the vending machine found at Sailor House. This is the same card that is needed to use the showers in the sanitary section of the Sailor House. The vending machine is open 24 hours a day.
Sailor House includes both the harbor master's office, kitchen facilities and shower and toilet facilities.
