Fantastic 2022 season on Anholt

loading="lazy"

Anholt harbour has been well visited this year. And the harbour has been packed with boats for long periods. When it's like that, it's just great to be a port. Of course, it can be a bit of a challenge when so many people have to share the space and moor their boats close together. There has been a bit of grumbling in the corners, but the guests on Anholt have largely been considerate and get a huge THUMPS UP from us.

Queen Margrethe visited Anholt

In early June we had the pleasure of a royal visit. Queen Margrethe visited our lovely sun-drenched island, and although the sunshine was a bit scarce and the wind was in its fresh mood, it was a day that we will remember for a long time. The Queen was taken on an island tour by Klaus, the harbour master. He expertly showed The Queen around to, among other things, the desert, an island family and not least - coffee and cake at the harbour.

"It was a really good day. Anholt showed its best side, even if we missed the sun - it usually shines over here. The Queen seemed to have a good time. She certainly showed a genuine interest in seeing the island and meeting the locals. We're glad of that," said Klaus Jensen, the harbour master, after the visit. The new construction bridge

Over the year, it has become increasingly clear that the new bridge is taking shape. The construction work has progressed slowly and steadily. The piles have been driven down and work on the floating bridge is well under way. This means that the new floating bridge will probably be ready for next season. This will create better conditions for both large and small vessels.

Something for the kids too

In recent years, the Sailor House area has received a much-needed facelift. The kitchen and bathroom areas have been upgraded, and the outdoor facilities, such as the barbecue and tables/benches, have been renewed to make the area look inviting and attractive.
There is now also some maritime equipment for the younger sailors. A dinghy with wheelhouse, ship's wheel and throttle has been placed at the outer edge of the barbecue area. So the youngest members of the family can conquer the seven seas while their parents prepare the food on the barbecue and keep an eye on the little sailors.

Some statistics and figures for the season

If you've been to Anholt harbour during the summer and thought, "There are so many boats here," you've been right. If we compare the number of boat days in 2022 with last year, there have been significantly more overnight boats at Anholt in 2022. In total, there have been 13,950 boat days, an increase of 606.
The number of Danish sailors who have passed Anholt has decreased significantly. There have been 1325 fewer boats flying the Danish flag, while there have been a number of more visitors from our neighbouring countries. 1660 more boats from Norway, Sweden and Germany docked in the harbour on Anholt, compared to 2021.

We look forward to next year and hope to see both - with old and new guests on board.
